Shipping policy

Purpose

This policy outlines the shipping restrictions for Hewitt Dental regarding dental equipment and related products. Due to the size, weight, specialized handling requirements, installation considerations, and liability risks associated with our equipment, Hewitt Dental does not offer direct shipping services for certain products.

Scope

This policy applies to all customers, distributors, contractors, and third parties purchasing large dental equipment from Hewitt Dental, including but not limited to:

  • Dental chairs and delivery systems
  • X-ray and imaging units
  • Sterilization equipment
  • Cabinetry and operatory systems
  • Compressors and vacuum systems
  • Specialized dental machinery and accessories

No Shipping Policy

Hewitt Dental does not provide standard shipping or parcel delivery for qualifying dental equipment products. Products must be:

  • Picked up directly by the customer or authorized representative; or
  • Delivered and installed through an approved third-party freight, white-glove delivery, or certified installation provider coordinated by the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Reasons for Policy

This policy is necessary due to:

1. Product Size and Weight

Many dental equipment products exceed standard freight dimensions and require specialized transportation, lifting equipment, and handling procedures.

2. Risk of Damage

Improper transportation may result in equipment damage, operational failure, or calibration issues that could compromise safety and performance.

3. Installation Requirements

Certain equipment must be installed, assembled, and tested by qualified professionals to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and applicable regulations.

4. Liability Concerns

Hewitt Dental is not responsible for damages, injuries, delays, losses, or regulatory issues resulting from transportation, handling, installation, or use by third-party carriers or unauthorized personnel.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Arranging transportation and delivery services
  • Ensuring the delivery location is accessible and prepared
  • Hiring qualified installation professionals where required
  • Inspecting products upon pickup or delivery
  • Obtaining any necessary permits, insurance, or regulatory approvals

Transfer of Responsibility

Ownership, risk of loss, and liability transfer to the customer or designated carrier at the time products leave the possession of Hewitt Dental or are picked up from our facility.

Inspection and Claims

Customers must inspect all equipment immediately upon receipt. Any visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies must be documented with the carrier and reported to Hewitt Dental

Hewitt Dental is not liable for concealed damage or issues arising after transportation by third-party carriers.

Exceptions

Any exceptions to this policy must be approved in writing by authorized management of Hewitt Dental. Additional fees, waivers, insurance requirements, and signed liability releases may apply.
